Where My Goals At?

1. Increase emergency fund to $13,000
February saw the smallest increase in my emergency fund goal since last August when I began building it up. It's a little bit of a downer but I did increase it a little over $300. There are two reasons for it's lack of funds, one is the pay cut reality and I didn't make much from side income. Never fear! We are still on track to get this completed by the end of the year.

2. Save $3,000 for geek-tastic vacation
We are sitting pretty at $600. We're one fifth of the way there! I hope to be one third of the way there by next month.

3. Complete Q and A a day project
This is going really well. I am loving this book. To be honest I did miss four days in a row, luckily this is the kind of project that can have a couple slip ups and it will still work out.

4. Save $4,000 in Roth IRA
Another so far so good with a balance over $1,000.

5. Run 5 miles a week
I did have one week this month that I only ran about two and a half miles. It was the same week I painted my daughters' room, so I get a little leeway, right? Right? Even with one crappy week, for the month I am averaging a little over 7 miles a week. Not too shabby.

6. Watch ten classic films
Ahhh.. I still haven't watched a classic film. I know last month I said I would put it in my Netflix queue and I did but they got trumped by The Adventures of Pete and Pete, the second season of Downton Abbey, and now Hugo. However, I did see One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest on Netflix instant so I will probably watch that in the next few days.

7. Read 30 books
I did read two different photography books, but I am not going to add this to my count. So, for February I am at zilch. I really need to get my butt going.

8. Make 24 hand written letters to friends and family
I actually wrote three letters this month, bringing my total for the year to five. We have a friend who just went to basic training and one of my old co-workers had sent me a letter. I wrote to both of them and I also wrote one letter to my husband. Last month I only wrote to the Sailor, but I liked writing people that I haven't talked to in a while (I had more to write about) Sorry Sailor, you'll get my texts but my handwriting belongs to long lost friends now. Plus, it kinda seems like cheating if I just write him all the time.

9. Research and save for an awesome camera
Completed this in January

10. Make one thousand origami cranes
I am doing pretty good on this one. I am nearing 300 cranes at the moment.

11. Go to a concert
I have been looking around. No action yet in this one.

12. Start a treat yo self fund
I have socked away a whopping $25 for this. I know it's not much but I have to start somewhere.
