Sounds like a lot of us are getting hit with some snow today. We sure are. It has not stopped snowing since yesterday, we are up to at least 2 feet and expecting 6 to 12 inches more. We are no stranger to snow around these parts, but it is coming a bit hard and fast. It looks so beautiful outside, but I just shoveled the walk for the second time today and I can feel it. Whew!
The kids had the day off today so we did some Christmas crafts and played outside, boy I am zonked.
We then did our advent activity, making paper snowflakes. Last year we used templates and cut out traditional looking snowflakes, like these. But This year I wanted to do something a little bit different. I found this pretty easy but with gorgeous results tutorial. It really is easy my 7 year old son figured it out. (although I do think he is brilliant) Sorry bibliophiles, but I used an old dictionary I bought last summer at my favorite used bookstore for $2, for our materials. Probably better than computer paper, but I would love to use some sheet music too. This is how one turned out.
I hung them up in our kitchen. I just taped a paper clip to it and strung some thread through. If you look closely you can see 2 of 3 of our peppermint Christmas trees in the windowsill. They make the kitchen smell wonderful.
Did any one else have fun in the snow today? Or did you snuggle up inside trying to stay warm?
