This week seemed to go by in a flash. The weekend was here before I knew it. The sailor left early Saturday morning for his award banquet. I woke up with him and knew I wouldn't be able to fall asleep, that would have been okay but the kids woke up too. It was 6:15 am. It actually turned out to be a nice day without any meltdowns. Very surprising.
My favorite free thing we did was our scout field trip to the fire department. It was very informative and interesting. I think this outing was great for the kids because just this Wednesday a house on our street caught fire. Everyone was okay and the house has damage but was not completely destroyed. The kids got more information about fire safety and what to do if there is a fire. I think it put them at ease a bit.
After the fire department, the kids and I walked to the library and spent an hour there. We enjoyed unusually nice weather on our walk home. This may be my other free thing, no snow yet. Don't get me wrong I love snow, but in a part of the country where winter last from October to
April May, it is nice to put off 6 feet of snow as long as possible.
