25 Days of Christmas

Last year our family did an advent calendar, well actually it is cute little house, but none the less we did an activity every single day. Some things were more intricate than others, but it was all fun. The kids took turns opening the little doors and finding their surprise for the day. It is also an inexpensive thing to do for the holidays. Not to mention the tradition that is being formed for our family. Here are the ideas we are going to do this month.
Really horrible picture of our advent house

1. Decorate the tree *
2. Write a letter to Santa *
3. Watch it’s a Wonderful Life *
4. Make snowflakes *
5. Watch A Charlie Brown Christmas *
6. Make peppermint trees * (styrofoam trees and peppermint candies)
7. Make a snowman and real hot chocolate *
9.  Wrap Dad’s present *
12. Watch the Snowman *
13. Drive around town see the Christmas lights *
14. Make fudge *
15. Go to Christmas parade *
16. Have a Hershey Kiss *
17. Make Christmas cookies *
18. Make popcorn and cranberry garland
19. Make popcorn balls
20. Make Christmas ball ornaments (styrofoam balls and velour ribbon) *
21. Christmas tree coloring (printout) *
22. Have the girls play a Christmas song on the piano*
24. Read ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas
25. Have breakfast together and listen to Christmas music

Somethings are super easy like watching a movie or eating a Hershey kiss, that is 100% intentional, just because it is a busy time of year. I don't think I would be able to keep up with it if we did a craft everyday. I am really excited though, it was a ton of fun last year and I am sure it will be again this year.
